Hi! My name is Maya Cala and I'm currently a high school student from Singapore living in Hawaii.

My parents bought me my first DSLR camera when I was 13. From then on I've loved capturing moments in my life, from taking pictures on my dad's iPhone to shooting on a Canon AE-1.

Photography to me is a form of gratitude. I take pictures to show appreciation. Art can set memories in stone and remind us of everything that we continue to live for.

However, photography can bring fresh perspective. It is an opportunity for self-reflection, for both the artist and the viewer.
